| Despite the impending flood warnings, we took a 22 mile paddle on the River Severn between the wier at Shrewsbury (which was looking very full and fierce) and the Boat Inn at Jackfield, Ironbridge. The river was full and flowing quickly, so we didn't have to paddle too much. However, Simon and I did have a lengthy and quite scary swim from the Jackfield rapids, where we were both simultaneously dumped, to a point near the Boat Inn. Swimming, landing the boats and relaunching down the fast flowing river was quite a challenge and we were glad of the beer on offer at the final egress point! |
